Eddie Guerrero

Hi all GamerGeek back again with another blog about a wwe superstar taken before his time, Eddie Guerrero. 

When you hear the name you think of, the Radicalz, the flog slash, a cheater, No Way Out match againist Brock Lesnar, Wrestlemania 20 celebrating with Chris Beniot, to me I think about the storyline with Chyna "mamacita". When Eddie came to the WWE he was joined with Chris Beniot, Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko on the 31/01/2000, they interfered in a match that the New Ages Outlaws which started the rivalry. After sometime the Radicalz aligned themselves with Triple H. While he was a heel he pursued Chyna who was a face at the time and allies with Jericho. 

At Wreslemania 2000 Eddie took on Jericho for the European Title, during the match Chyna turned on Jericho and joined Eddie as she said she couldn't resist his "Latino Heat". I loved them two together, they starting to become fan favourites as they turned faces.

Chyna was upset when Guerrero pinned her to advance in the King of the Ring tournament. 

Then at SummerSlam that August, Guerrero and Chyna wrestled an Intergender tag team match against Trish Stratus and Val Venis. Val Venus at the time was the  Intercontinental Champion, however the Intercontinental Championship was on the line in the match, and whoever scored the pin would win the title. Guerrero's team won the match, but Chyna scored the pin on Trish and became a two-time Intercontinental Champion. Although Guerrero said he did not mind that Chyna been the champion, on Raw is War the next night he went to WWF Commissioner Mick Foley and asked to be inserted into Chyna's title defense against Kurt Angle claiming that he did not want Angle to hurt his "mamacita". During the match, Angle knocked down Chyna with the title belt and Guerrero laid on top of her to try to revive her. However, this resulted in Guerrero "accidentally" pinning Chyna as her shoulders were still on the mat, and thus Guerrero won the match and his first Intercontinental Championship. 

Guerrero was upset that Chyna was posing for Playboy magazine even trying to invade the Playboy Mansion to stop the photo shoot. That was so funny been dragged away by two guards. 

When I was watching this I was like come on Eddie kick them or punch them your Eddie Guerrero. Just when it appeared that Chyna would leave Guerrero, he proposed to her and she accepted. The engagement was called off when Guerrero was caught showering with two of The Godfathers Hoes (one was Victoria) claiming that "two Mamacitas are better than one" why the WWE did this I will never know they were so good together. He was released from the WWE in November 2001 due to drink driving. 

He returned to the WWE in April 2002, and started a feud with RVD. He would team with his nephew Chavo Guerrero, they won the tag team title twice together. He got a title shot against Brock Lesnar after winning a 15 man royal rumble. At No Way Out, he beat Brock to become the WWE champion. Everyone wanted him to win he was the underdog.

After winning this match he jumped into the crowd it was amazing moment probably one of the best moments of his career.

With Eddie been champ he was going to WrestleMania as the champ. He started a feud with Kurt Angle which he would go on to face at WrestleMania XX. After Eddie won this match later on Chris Benoit would face Triple H and Shawn Michaels. After Chris won the match Eddie went out and hugged him and celebrate with him. Thinking about this now you are going to cry knowing you will never see a greater moment then that 🥺🥺🥺

After this he started a feud with JBL however the rivalry would soon turn personal when at a non-televised live event, JBL caused Guerrero's mother to suffer a heart attack while in attendance at ringside. At Judgment Day, Guerrero defended his WWE title against JBL, retaining the title after getting himself disqualified, hitting JBL with the championship title. During this match Guerrero began to bleed heavily mid-way into the match. This was the result of Guerrero performing a bladejob after a stiff headshot ringside with a chair from JBL. It was later explained that he cut too deep, 😱😱 thus hitting an artery. After the match was over, Guerrero went into shock and passed out backstage and was taken to a nearby medical facility. 🥺 

Eddie would lost the title to JBL thanks to Kurt Angle as these two continue their rivalry. Eddie held the WWE title once,  European title once, United States title once, Intercontinental title twice And won the tag team title 4 times with Chavo twice, Tajri 🤨 and Rey Mysterio once. 

When he and Rey lost the titles, the two went into a rivalry themselves. This was a great storyline, Eddie wanted to tell everyone Rey's secret that Rey's son Dominik (who is now in the WWE - I'm not even messing he really is) was actually Eddie's son. Eddie and Rey fought at SummerSlam in a ladder match to who would win custody of Dominik ( of course Rey won) 😂. 

After this he became number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship against Batista. As Eddie was heel at the time when he lost his match to Batista the next night he came out with Batista in his signature low rider and old entrance music. 

He wanted to be part of the SmackDown Survivor Series team and fought Mr Kennedy for the spot on November 11th 2005. He won this match using his normal"lie, cheat and steal" he got a chair as the ref was knocked out due to Eddie throwing Kennedy into him, he was going to use the chair but seen the red was getting up. He hit the chair off the ground, throw it at Kennedy and fell to the floor. 

As the ref turned around Eddie played like he wa hit with the chair getting Mr Kennedy disqualified. 

🥺🥺 Sadly this was Eddie last match. He passed away on the 13th of November due to heart failure. His legacy lives on with most of the WWE superstars now saying they looked up to Eddie one in particular is Sasha Banks. She has done a few of Eddie's moves and some of his cheating ways. 👏👏
