The Ninth Wonder of the World Chyna

Hi all GamerGeek back again with another blog about the Ninth Wonder of the World Chyna, what a woman she started in the WWF in 1997.

She made her debut at the 1997 In The House 13, she was seating at ringside when she emerged and starting to choke Marlena while Goldust was wrestling Triple H. She kind of became the bodyguard of DX.

She would help them cheat by using her signature move a low blow. Some of the WWF superstars back stage weren’t 100% happy to be overpowered by a woman.

She began a romantic storyline with Mark Henry, in which he presumed her and they became an item on-screen. However in January 1999 it was then revealed to be a ruse to humiliate Henry. She took part in and won the Corporate Royal Rumble to be the 30th superstar to enter the Royal Rumble.

She became the first woman to enter the Royal Rumble, she eliminated Mark Henry during the Rumble she was then eliminated by Austin.

In 1999 she was the first woman superstar to qualify for the King of the Ring tournament, she also became the number contender for the WWF championship however lost her spot to Mankind. 

She started a feud with Jeff Jarrett, on October 1999 she took on Jarrett in a Good Housekeeping match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship. FYI she won and became the first ever Woman to hold the Intercontinental Championship.

She held the title for over 50+days until she lost to Chris Jericho. She started to join forces with Jericho after this however at WrestleMania 2000 Eddie took on Jericho for the European Title, during the match Chyna turned on Jericho and joined Eddie as she said she couldn't resist his "Latino Heat".

At SummerSlam that August, Guerrero and Chyna wrestled an Intergender tag team match against Trish Stratus and Val Venis. Val Venus at the time was the Intercontinental Champion, however the Intercontinental Championship was on the line in the match, and whoever scored the pin would win the title. Guerrero's team won the match, but Chyna scored the pin on Trish and became a two-time Intercontinental Champion.

After this Chyna went against Kurt Angle for the title, during the match, Angle knocked down Chyna with the title belt and Guerrero laid on top of her to try to revive her, but this resulted in Guerrero "accidentally" pinning Chyna as her shoulders were still on the mat, and with that Guerrero won the match and his first Intercontinental Championship.

Chyna was posing for Playboy magazine which Eddie did not like and tried to stop it from happening it didn’t go well. Chyna as about to leave Guerrero, when he proposed to her and she accepted. The engagement was called off when Guerrero was caught showering with two of The Godfathers Hoes (one was Victoria) claiming that "two Mamacitas are better than one".

Her last match was againist Lita on the May 20, 2001 at Judgement Day. She left the WWE on November 2001 over a contract dispute. They can say it was over this however I always thought it was over her finding out her then boyfriend Triple H was seeing Stephanie McMahon due to their storyline (which I have done a blog on already) behind her back and the WWE were just trying to save face. She later revealed she indicated that the breakup with Levesque had nothing to do with her leaving WWF and that she left to pursue an acting career.

Sadly on the 20th April 2016 she was found dead at her home, she was 46. She died to an accidental drug overdose. She was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2019 as a member of DX.

One match I would love to see now would be Rhea Ripley vs Chyna, you just know they would put on a show.
